Why isn’t Rush Limbaugh joining the First Lady’s campaign against childhood obesity?

Conservative commentator Rush Limbaugh has been surprisingly subdued about the First Lady’s campaign against childhood obesity. He did mention that he thought that Southern states had the highest rates of obesity, but that is hardly insightful.
According to data compiled by the CDC, in 2008, only one state (Colorado) had a prevalence of obesity less than 20%. Thirty-two states had a prevalence equal to or greater than 25% and six of these states (Alabama, Mississippi, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, and West Virginia). had a prevalence of obesity equal to or greater than 30%.
Being overweight can not only lead to cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, respiratory, hormonal, neurological, and metabolic diseases such as diabetes. Being overweight can also manifest itself through psychological difficulties, which may require the assistance of a trained professional.
One would think that Rush could readily understand the health risks associated with obesity. It’s a bandwagon he needs jump on. So, “Let’s Move,” Rush, and not just the muscles in your mouth.
